Sara Ethel Ricker

Sara Ethel Ricker, 95, wife of the late Arnold S. Ricker, received her wings on Monday, February 21, 2022.

Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late William and Louise Nelson Burns.

Sara was quiet and shy and enjoyed spending time at home with her family and working in her garden. In later years, she looked forward to going to the beach with her daughters and visiting antique stores.

She was the last surviving founding member of Airport Baptist Church in Greer.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Howard; two grandsons, Ricky Robertson and his wife, Karen, and Rodney Howard; five great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Clyde “Sonny” Robertson; son-in-law, Billy “Buddy” Howard; a grandson, Kent Robertson; a sister, Frances Sherril and brother, Jack Nelson.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Park, with Pastor Mark Lawing officiating. There will be no public visitation at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Airport Baptist Church, 776 S. Batesville Rd., Greer, SC 29650.
