Sharon was one of the closest friends I ever had. A kinder person, no one will ever know. We worked together for many years at BellSouth. After my retirement, my wife Judy and I started a small business in Boiling Springs, SC. A few years later Sharon retired and I immediately called to see if she would consider coming and working with us - a trip from Easley, SC to Boiling Springs, SC - daily. She said yes immediately. During the time she made the arduous trip, she had a big smile on her face every morning and all day. During that time and for years after, Judy and I would meet she and Joe in Greenville to have lunch or dinner. Joe and Heather were the "Loves of her Life"; but she adhered to the philosophy - "Love is the only thing you can give away but end up with more than you had." Sharon; "Go rest high on that mountain. Girl your work on earth is done. Go to Heaven a-shoutin'. Love for the Father and the Son". Love always from Ernie and Judy

Such a fitting tribute for Sharon, the beautiful redhead I so loved in our class at Castlewood High School from 1964 to 1968. Sharon is far left front row in this picture of us Blue Devils at our 50th class reunion in 2018. We remained in touch, with our last correspondence being November 15 & 16 when she told me of her declining health and possible upcoming heart surgery. I told her then of my husband’s illness, and she sent these words of comfort, “May our Lord Jesus send healing and a peace that surrounds you all.” This moment I am returning these words to Joe, Heather, Blaine, Marlaine, and all those who loved and were loved by Sharon. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints.” Psalm 116:15

These beautiful words so aptly describe the beautiful redhead with whom I attended Castlewood High School, Virginia from 1964-1968. The picture of us Blue Devils is from our 50th reunion, and Sharon’s happy self is front row, far left. She and I last corresponded mid-November, and she shared her health concerns, including upcoming heart surgery. I told her about my husband’s health, and her closing comment was, “May our Lord send healing and a peace that surrounds you all.” I’m sending these words back to Joe, Heather, Blaine, Marlaine, and all those blessed to know and love Sharon.
