Sherry Jean Simmons Martinez

January 16, 1963 - October 15, 2021

Sherry Jean Simmons Martinez, 58, of Greenville, wife of Danny Martinez, passed away Friday, October 15, 2021 with her family by her side. 

Born in Greenville, SC she was the daughter of the late Pauline Grace Bryson.

In addition to her loving husband Danny, Sherry is survived by her son, Joshua Martinez; three daughters, Jennifer Collins (Jeff), Brandy De La Cruz (Mateo), and Amber Martinez (Katie); eight grandchildren, Cody, Ethan, Khloe, Kaley, Diego, Alec, Erica, and Emilia; and siblings, Kathy Rosier (George), Vickie Lange, Donna Hanson, Sheila Ford (T.J.), and Donny Bryson (Carla).

In addition to her mother, Sherry is preceded in death by her siblings Deborah Simmons, Rebecca Simmons, Kenny Bryson, Sylvia Frary, and Yvonne Deal (Edward); and two grandchildren, our Angel infant and Owen De La Cruz.

A visitation will be held Friday, October 22, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The service will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Downtown chapel with burial following at Graceland Cemetery West. 

She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her!

Mrs. Sherry was such a beautiful woman inside and out and even though it was very brief, I am so thankful I was able to have the opportunity to meet her.
