Lively, will miss being with you both in the mountains. We will miss Steve’s giggle and wit. Praying that God will wrap you in His Angels’ wings and hold you tight as you go through this tremendous loss. ❤️

Steve and I were friends throughout Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, grades 4-6 at Stone School, YMCA basketball, Greenville Jr. High School, and Greenville Sr. High School. We rode bicycles together in grammar school, played golf together throughout Jr. High and Sr. High, hunted together as adolescents, and enjoyed playing bridge with others. I am thankful to have had Steve as a good friend throughout those formative years. My condolences go especially to his brothers, Gary and "Davey" (as we knew him in those days), as well as the many who enjoyed Steve's friendship. Tracy Duggan

My heart is heavy for you, Ellen. Your loss is great because Steve was a great man, companion, friend and partner. It was always a joy to have a conversation with Steve because he was interesting, well-versed on many things and had a great sense of humor. I’m so glad you found each other and had the time and experiences you had together. Rest easy, Steve.

I met Steve later in his life through Ellen. Good times with him followed with Ellen, most memorably were: Sapphire, The Spot on the Alley and Deep South Defense. Steve was always very gracious and patient with me wherever we met, for which I will always be grateful, and especially while he instructed on the best way to handle his beloved firearms.

The sadness and loneliness you must be feeling is unfair and deep, but let your friends and family help you with this burden. And remember, if you don't know the answer, try "Justin Timberlake"! Hugs Ellen!
