Susan Marie Cummins, 74, wife of Edward F. Cummins, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022.
Born in Omaha, NE, she was the daughter of the late William and Lillian McBreen. Sue was a graduate of Marion High School of Omaha, Nebraska. She later met Ed, the love of her life. Their loving and caring marriage of 53 years can be used as a model for all.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Being a committed Catholic, she prayed the rosary every day. Her faith was extremely important to her and she would ensure the family attended mass even while on vacation.
Sue always put others before herself. She spent many hours volunteering within her church, children’s schools and sport’s activities as well as being a Cub Scout Master.
She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She loved having late night card games with her siblings and in-laws or playing board games with her children and grandchildren. Sue loved the bonding time generated from these events. She was the type of person who celebrated holidays to the extreme. Everyone looked forward to seeing what kind of socks and accessories Sue would be sporting at the next event. She made life fun for everyone around her with silly dances, wacky games and funny jokes. Her infectious laugh was contagious to everyone.
Her gift in life was generating cherished memories that continue to live on in others.
In addition to her husband of 53 years, left to cherish her memory are her four children, Edward Cummins (Missy), Ron Cummins (Sherry), Troy Cummins (Jodi), and Dawn Wilson (David); 13 grandchildren, Eddie Cummins, Ashlyn Bundtzen, Daniel Evans, Alexis Snyder, Abby Cummins, Olivia Cummins, Makenzie Cummins, Emma Cummins, Brock Cummins, Trey Wilson, Hayley Wilson, Blake Wilson, and Zoey Wilson; 3 great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Sharon Stutsman, Sandy Gilliam Larson, Carol Rhoades, Linda Nutting, and David McBreen.
A Rosary will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast, with visitation to follow from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
