Thomas Allen Jenkins, 80, born in Simpsonville, SC, was the son of the late Reverend Simon and Esther Shell Jenkins.
He married the former Wendell Burts. He went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 14, 2022.
Thomas was a member of Valley Brook Baptist Church. He was a 1961 graduate of Bryson high School “Hurricanes”.
“You gotta have love in your heart” was something you would often hear Thomas telling others. He might have been a little man, but his heart was measured the size of the world.
He was an a amazing brother, husband, father, grandpa, uncle, cousin, and friend. He loved spending time with his friends and family, especially cruising the seas and seeing all the beautiful places God has made.
Thomas retired from Dan River Warehouse.
In addition to his parents, Thomas, was reunited in Heaven by his son, James Allen Boyce; siblings, Henry, Freddie, William, Bobby Joe, and Earnestine Jenkins.
His legacy will continue on in the hearts of his wonderful family, his best friend and wife of 59 years, Wendell Burts Jenkins; his sons, James Anthony Boyce and Thomas Edward Boyce; his daughters, Tracy Jenkins, Gwendolyn Jenkins, Joanette Jenkins (Keith) Watts, Jeanette Jenkins Brown, Deborah Brown, and Sandra Tabor; four sisters, Violet Jackson, Marie McCollum, Beverly (Leland) Martin, Ester Jenkins; two brothers, Jackie (Sarah) Jenkins, and Lonnie Jenkins; 15 adorable grandchildren; 29 wonderful great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
