Thomas “Tommy” Sinn, II, 45, husband of Shannon Sinn, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018.

Born in Peoria, Illinois, he was a son of Thomas Marvin Sinn and Nancy Kraft Sinn.

Tommy was a graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Financial Management. He was the General Manager for Five Star Plumbing, Heating and Cooling and was an active member of Fellowship Greenville. He was a former member of the advisory board for Caine Halter YMCA and a member of the Downtown Rotary Club.

Tommy loved and supported his wife and two boys, planning trips to the lake and attending his sons’ athletic events.
The consummate thrill seeker, he challenged himself and others with sky diving, base jumping, endurance running and cycling, wakeboarding and dirt biking.

We will all miss his loud head-turning laugh and mischievous grin.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by sons, Thomas Andrew and Max Edwin, both of the home; a sister, Tena DeVaney and her husband, Todd of Greer, SC; a brother, Ted and his wife, Tricia of Orlando, FL; eight nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Thursday, January 4, 2018, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at Fellowship Greenville with funeral service following at 1:30 p.m. A private burial will be held following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Caine Halter Family YMCA, 721 Cleveland St., Greenville, SC 29601 or the Frazee Center, 8110 Hwy. 81 North, Easley, SC 29642.

Ray: Sometimes it is easy to get so deeply rooted in your own misery you fail to see when your friends need support. I did not know that Tommy was so sick until I got Becca's e-mail to all of us. Tom and Nancy and Shannon, Thomas, and Max, I am so sorry to hear of your loss! I am praying for everyone in your family at this time. My son, David, went to Southside Christian School and was the same age as Tommy. I have so many good memories of the Sinn family while we were at Southside. My husband, Bob, passed away a year ago December, 2016. It will be an adjustment for your family and your tears will flow at unexpected times, but God will meet your every need. Tommy touched so many lives in very positive ways. He became part of our lives through our Son-in-law, Sung. Tommy's joy and concern for others,even in the midst of his own trials was inspiring. The love given him by his friends was a reflection of the love and concern he gave others. Tommy was a bigger-than-life high school student when our sons were in elementary/middle school at SCS. He was an outstanding athlete and left a legacy at Southside Christian. Prayers extended to all the family as they rejoice that Tommy is in the presence of the Lord. Prayers that the Lord will fill the huge void that Tommy leaves.

I admired Tommy and the valiant fight he had with the nasty Cancer. I knew him from the early mornings at the Y, as we stood outside the Y even before it opened, and it was such a joy to see him continue his workouts as he fought through his treatments. I always looked up to Tommy, and have always been so proud to call him my cousin. I will miss his stories and that contagious laugh! I didn't spend as much time with him as I would have liked, but the memories I have from my times with him are some of my favorites! I'm so thankful we got to go to the lake September 2016. That's how I remember him- carefree and happy and laughing.

Shannon, I remember the day I was in Tommy's office and he told me he was buying a boat for you and the boys! It was a while ago and I commented that Brad also wanted one, Tommy's words " I am just going to do it" - I admired his attitude. Please know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers.

I knew Tommy as a fellow skydiver at the Clemson/Oconee airport, with the Dixie Skydivers. He had a fantastic spirit and a joyful exuberance for life! I am terribly sorry to hear about his passing. May the Gracious Lord welcome him home, and provide solace and comfort to his family and friends. Rest in Peace my friend!Chris Castro.
