Veronica was my first cousin, and most memorable. She could be hilarious with her sense of humor. I hadn't kept in touch, but did contact her when her aunt (my mother) passed 13 years ago. She live a rich life but there was more, and cancer robs us of those years. Our condolences and prayers.

Though my heart is broken at losing my best friend and 'sister', I thank God for sending this angel into my life 45 years ago! One of my favorite memories of Veronica was the California vacation that my brother Ramon and I took with her in the summer of 1979. We had a blast largely because Veronica was so easy going, game for anything, and always saw the bright or funny side of a situation. Like when she and I almost got locked up inside the Forest Lawn Funeral Home in LA for the night (too long of a story for this moment), only by sheer luck did we manage to be 'freed'. Even after so many years, we would bring it up and still laugh about it. In the subsequent years, we were separated by the distances that the paths of our lives took, but when we reunited it was always felt as if no time had passed. Awww, her sweet smiles and her warm hugs! Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her! To Mike, Carmen, and the rest of her family: May all the warm thoughts that are coming your way console you and help see you through.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember when Veronica had my sister Chrissy and me over for a sleepover when we were kids (1986) and she and Michael were first married. We had so much fun - she took us shopping and we stayed up late watching Dallas and recorded hilarious outgoing messages on her answering machine. She was ALWAYS kind and warm and so sweet to me, and I will remember her smile and beautiful eyes, big heart and wonderful laugh always. Sending love to all. -Karen Maloy

Dear Friends, Veronica was always so present to everyone, so intense and intent in everything she did, so lively, so determined, so resourceful, so graceful, so loving, that we can still feel her presence now that she is no longer with us. May her sweet and calming voice resonate continuosly in the hearts of her mother Carmen, brother Steven, husband Mike, her children Michael, Steven and Chrissy, her dear aunts and cousins and all her friends, in all those moments in which they would have turned to her for help, advise or comfort. Veronica is not gone. She is with you still, she is close still and loving you still from a different place, from a Home of Love Eternal. May all of you find peace and comfort on this.
