William “Bill” C. Halter Jr

William C. Halter, Jr, 82, husband of Sandra Morrison Halter, died Saturday, August 28, 2021 in Greenville, SC.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, April 1, 1939, he was the son of the late William and Dorothy Nourse Halter.

Bill grew up in Long Island, NY. He graduated from The George Washington University and University of Virginia Law School. He began his career as a Trust and Estate Attorney with White and Case, and Werner Kennedy, before opening his own law firm in 1985 in Manhattan and White Plains, NY. Bill’s focus on Estate Law was driven by his love of helping individuals plan for their futures. He retired in 2013 and moved with his wife to Greenville.

Friends and family will always remember Bill as a gentleman in the classic sense of the word. He was unfailingly kind and courteous to those around him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, his sister, Willette Halter Thorell; brother-in-law Reginald Morrison (Susan); sister-in-law Deborah Morrison; two nieces and two nephews; as well as three grand nephews and two grand nieces.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Thomas Morrison and his cousins John and Jeffrey Halter.

Per Bill’s request there will be no services held.
