William Carl Keeler

William ?Bill? Carl Keeler, 80, formerly of Towers East, died August 11, 2004 at Laurel Baye Nursing Center. Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Norman Oscar and Sallie Edna Barton Keeler. Mr. Keeler served in the US Navy during WW II. He was retired from J. P. Stevens and Co. and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are two sisters, Edna Cooke and Alma Mahaffey of Greenville, also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Taylor and Christine McCarter, and two brothers, James and Alva Keeler. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel, with visitation prior to the service, from 12:30 until 1:15 p.m. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, West. The family is at the home of Alma Mahaffey, 11 Mora Street, Greenville.
