William Edward Flathmann, III, 72, of 201 Barrett Drive, husband of Peggy Barber Flathmann, died Monday, December 15, 2008. Born in Charleston, SC, he was a son of the late William Edward and Grace Kanapeaux Flathmann. Mr. Flathmann was employed with Jacobs Engineering and was a United States Marine veteran. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son and daughter-in-law, Tod Edward and Connie Flathmann of Fountain Inn; a daughter, Lisa Ann Flathmann of the home; two grandchildren, Zack and Chris Flathmann of Fountain Inn; a brother and sister-in-law, John Francis and Doris Flathmann of Charleston; two nieces and three nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. There will be a private graveside service. The family will be at the residence. The family wishes to thank Dr. Gary Spitzer and the staff of the Cancer Center of the Carolinas.
