William “Bill” Frederick Zuber, a devoted and loving husband to Dianne Zuber, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his beloved family on Monday, July 10, 2023. He was 78 years old.
Born in Elyria, OH, and raised in Jacksonville, FL, he was a son of the late Merlin and Nellie Koust Zuber.
After graduating from Newberry College, Bill maintained a deep affection for his alma mater and continued to support it in various ways. He cherished his time there and valued the education and experiences it provided him.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard. His dedication and commitment to protecting his fellow citizens were evident in his service.
Bill was known for his fun-loving nature and his caring and loving personality. He had a remarkable ability to make others smile and laugh, and his presence could light up any room. He possessed a heart of gold with total devotion to his family and friends.
Bill was an avid sports fan. He loved Cleveland Browns, Newberry Indians, Florida Gators, Clemson Tigers and Atlanta Braves.
He excelled in his roles as a son, brother, husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather. His family meant the world to him. He exemplified strong work ethics and instilled important family values in all those he touched.
Throughout his life, he embodied values of compassion, loyalty, and integrity, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. Bill will be deeply missed, but his spirit and the love he shared will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his loving wife, Dianne; step-son, Dudley Parr; son, Benjamin “Benjy” Zuber (Karen); step-daughter, Gena Turner (Frederick); step-son, Michael Myers (Alice); one adoring grandson, Jake Zuber; his beloved brother, Joe Zuber; and brother-in-law, Monty Petty.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marsha Petty; and sister-in-law, Sally Zuber.
A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at CityRange Steakhouse Grill, 615 Haywood Road.
