William Harry Balding, 81, of Greenville, S.C., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at home surrounded by his loved ones.
Harry was born in Rock Hill, S.C. on May 5th, 1939, to the late Burnett and Violet Southerlin Balding. He graduated from Travelers Rest High School in 1957 and received his degree at Clemson University in 1961. He worked at Milliken throughout his college years and continued working for Milliken for over 50 years. He was known for his dedication and work ethic.
He was married to Ann on May 26, 1962. He adored his loving wife for nearly 59 years. Harry was a dedicated father and grandfather. He loved spending time with family. Harry had a love for music and traveling. He was a member of Roper Mountain Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Deacon Chairman. He also expressed his love for the Lord and others by teaching Sunday School.
In addition to his loving wife, Ann, he is survived by sons, David, Anthony (Merritt), James (Missy), Michael (Shelley); grandsons, Christopher, Joseph, Andrew, Joshua and Noah Balding; granddaughters, Rebecca Harrison (Tony), Rebecca Anne, Emily, Summer and Ava Balding; great grandsons Oliver, Miles, William and Aidan Balding; sister, Lillie Greenwood (Edward); and brother, H. Jerry Balding.
A public visitation will be held Tuesday, May 4, 2021, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Roper Mountain Baptist Church followed by the Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in Roper Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. All attendees are strongly encouraged to wear masks and follow CDC guidelines on social distancing.
