I worked with Bill  at Union Carbide/Kemet for 36 years and I can truly say that he became one of the best friends I ever had.  That is an odd thing to say since Bill and I never socialized away from work  I played golf, bowled , and was in the Fishing Club at Kemet and Bill didn't do any of those things.  He did enjoy his Clemson Tigers and going to the games when he could.  He had a second job after his Kemet job and told me he did that for enjoyment and to make sure his family had what they needed.
I was an Electronics Maintenance Technician and Bill was a Mechanical Maintenance Technician and we worked together on many jobs.  Bill had a soft easy way about him and didn't get in a hurry which made people feel comfortable around him.  He helped me learn a lot about mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and made me a better maintenance technician.  I was always at ease around Bill and we were able to talk about anything even on subjects that we had different opinions on.  I just remember and appreciate the time I got to spend with him during work and a few times after work.  I loved William Jesse Durham and told him that and I love his family and wish to pass on my deepest sorrow and best wishes to Brenda, Robin and Dale & Christy.  Rest in peace my friend

Mr. Durham was such a kind and loving man. I haven't known him long, but my daughter  Christy is  married to his son Dale.  He was always smiling when I saw him and always so kind. He will greatly  be missed  by everyone that loved him. I'm keeping his wife Brenda  and daughter  and my son in law Dale in my prayers! D3BBIE Kirby.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Lots of fun memories as Bill and Brenda's neighbors.  They were always there to help with our daughter, Mindy, as she grew up.  Always loved Clemson like us too.  Will never forget this family and will be praying for all of them in the loss of Bill.
