William ?Wild Willie? Edwin Crooks, 90, of 4614 Old Spartanburg Road, died May 30, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Edward and Lera Crooks and the widower of Lula Stowe Crooks. Before his retirement, he was an Engineer with Southern Railroad for over 30 years. Mr. Crooks was a member of Earle Street Baptist Church and formerly a member of Central Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Bill Crooks of Daytona Beach, FL; two grandchildren, Bill Largo and his wife, Christine, of Sebring, FL, Drs. Kathy Hale and her husband Ken, of Dansville, NY; four great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Young of Easley, Ethel Alberson of Greenville, Beatrice Burch of Fayetteville, GA; two brothers, Walter Crooks and Lawrence Crooks of Greenville; Companion and Caregiver, Lisa Sherbert of Travelers Rest. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sara Crooks. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association, 301 University Ridge, Suite 5000, Greenville, SC 29601. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Remembrance Chapel of Woodlawn Memorial Park with entombment to follow.
