Willis “Will” Paul Sheriff Jr., 78, husband of Phyllis Huff Sheriff, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021.

Born in Carter County, TN, he was the son of the late Willis and Celeste Nave Sheriff, Sr.

Will proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was also a member of Hampton Heights Baptist Church. He loved his family, his church but most of all his Lord and Savior. He loved reading scripture and spending time in the Word of God. He was dependable, with a quiet humble spirit, with a loving servant’s heart. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and had a special interest in native plants especially native grasses.

In addition to his loving wife, Phyllis, he is survived by son, Stephen Sheriff; sisters, Raleigh Thomas, Lynn Ann Ellis; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Sheriff.

A visitation will be held Friday, September 17, 2021 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest. The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest Chapel. Burial will be held in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Pickens, SC.

Phyllis/Steve, so sorry to here of Will’s sudden death. I live here on the end of Old Chapman Bridge Rd., been here since 1980. Knew your Mom and Dad well. Grady and Will built my dock. I would stop by Grady’s office periodically to visit him and say “Hello” to you and Peggy. I would always go over and speak with Will when I saw him down here keeping the Huff house up.
