Sid Pickett left a message on September 20, 2021:
Jerry and I grew up together at Francis Asbury Methodist and at East North Street Elementary. A couple of years ago, we were messaging back and forth looking for Jerry's next door neighbor and mutual friend, Wilson Durham. After a lot of searching, we found that Wilson died a few years ago. Jerry and I shared many memories. On one occasion, Jerry, Wilson, Bobby McDonald and I were camping at Timmons Park. We decided it would be fun to get Wilson's go-kart and tear around the town. We all went to Wilson's house and quietly carried the go-kart off so his parents wouldn't hear. When we thought we had gone far enough, we started the go-kart up and tore around the city until the cops started chasing us. We finally ditched the kart in a field and ran away. Just one of the memories that we shared. So sorry to hear Jerry is now gone. Our condolences to the family.
