"Have I not commanded you?
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid;
do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God
will be with you wherever you go."
– Joshua 1:9
Our son, Joshua Daniel Long, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021 after 33 treasured years of love and laughter. He was born on March 28, 1987 in Clinton, South Carolina and was the youngest child of Ed and Karren Long of Laurens, South Carolina.
Joshua and his brother Shane attended K-12 at the former Thornwell School in Clinton, South Carolina. After completing an associate's degree in general studies at Greenville Technical College, Josh furthered his education when he received his CNC (Computer Numerical Control) certification. He loved playing golf and video games and spending time with his dogs, Joe Boxer and Theo.
Josh was a member of Laurens United Methodist Church.
His memory is forever held in the hearts of his parents, Roy Edward Long and Karren Garrett Long; his big brother, Shane and Laura Long and their children, Will & Lily, all of Mauldin; two aunts, Jean Garrett of Greenwood and Cindy & Lester Farmer of Easley; two uncles, Jeff and Keleigh Garrett of Greenville and Greg Garrett and Kem Lynne of Taylors; seven cousins, Jarred Armstrong, Seth Armstrong and his wife Amanda, Andrew Farmer and his wife Bethanne, Brad Farmer, Christopher Garrett and his wife Kelsey, Ashley Foy and her husband Jimmy, and Brandi Hensley and her husband Scott.
