Dewey P. Reid

Dewey P. Reid, 61, of Greenville, husband of Crystal Lynn Campbell Reid, died on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late George Lewis and Helen Margaret Westbrook Reid. Dewey was a member of Judson Baptist Church, was a past master and current secretary of Dunean Masonic Lodge #359, and drove a newspaper route in the mornings before work and again in the evening. He loved Braves baseball and Nascar racing, and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 40 years, are three children, Dewey P. Reid, Jr., Stacey Polito and husband, Jorge, and Melissa Reid; a granddaughter, Thalia Navarro; a brother, George "Lewis" Reid, Jr. and significant other, Betty Mulligan; a sister, Margaret Cox and husband, Tommy; brother-in-law, Ricky Campbell and wife, Tammy; two sister-in-laws, Ruby Clark and husband, Eddie, and Tammy Brown and husband, William; nine nieces; three nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews; and special family friends, Jonell Reid and Katrina Navarro. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alexis Polito. The visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
