Ethel Moody Hopkins, 83, wife of the late Charles E.”Hop” Hopkins, Sr. , of Greenville, passed away at her daughters home, Tuesday, May 25, 2021.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Bernice Moody.
Ethel graduated from Parker High School. She was a retired employee of the Greenville Water System. Ethel was a member of Berea First Baptist Church where she loved to participate and sing in the choir. Her greatest joy and love were her family, co-workers, and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Hopkins Howard (David Douglass) of Travelers Rest, SC; her son, Charles E. “Chip” Hopkins, Jr. (Cindy Watson) of Thomasville, NC; three grandchildren, Chelsea Hopkins Martinez (Alejandro Martinez) of Davis, CA, Seth Howard of Greenville, and Ethan Howard of Travelers Rest, SC; her sister, Martha Green of Anderson, SC; and brothers, Rex Moody of Sandy, OR, and Danny Moody of Piedmont, SC.
Receiving of friends will be held Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:15 p.m. at Berea First Baptist Church, with the memorial service following at 4:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Open Arms Hospice, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
The family will be at the home of her daughter, Cindy Howard.
