Kirby Mitchell Pack, 66, devoted husband of 42 years to Cynthia Latrelle Pack, passed away at home surrounded by family on Sunday, July 25, 2021.
Born in Waco, TX, he was a son of the late James Richard and Nancy Bradock Pack.
While working at Beech Mountain Ski Lodge he met and instantly fell in love with Latrelle. He asked Latrelle to marry him the day they met. They made a beautiful home together and were blessed with two sweet daughters that he cherished, and that made their life complete.
Kirby graduated from Furman University where he played football. He loved to go fishing in the Chattooga River, golfing, watching Nascar and college football, and gardening in his backyard. He grew up in Waco, Tx but as a child with family, moved and lived in Palm Beach, Fl and Dothan, Al. He was a lover of the mountains, camping, and adventure and had a love for Greenville, SC. Kirby had a passion for politics and never went a day without listening to Rush Limbaugh.
He never met a stranger. Kirby was passionate about sports marketing, networking, and sales. He launched his career with Rolston Purina and then moved with RIchard and Nancy Pack, from Columbia, SC to Greenville, SC with a family business. Kirby then trailblazer his own business in sports marketing, making many connections within Nascar for decades. He ended his career in safety traffic control.
Kirby was described as happy, fun, gregarious, and always making others laugh and smile. He never forgot a name or face and in fact, he seemed to know someone just about everywhere he went, even up in Maine! He was an amazing son, brother, husband, dad, the world’s best Grandpa, uncle, cousin, and friend. Everyone loved Kirby.
