Arthur Ralph “Sonny” Rollins, Jr.

Arthur Ralph “Sonny” Rollins, Jr., 72, beloved husband of Diann Taylor Rollins, died Wednesday, September 22, 2021.

Born in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Arthur Ralph Rollins, Sr. and Selma Gregory Rollins.

Sonny was a 27 year veteran of the South Carolina National Guard and was a retired maintenance engineer with the South Carolina Department of Transportation. He was a member of Augusta Heights Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir. To say that he was an avid Furman University baseball, basketball and football fan would be an understatement.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife, are his brothers, Johnny Rollins (Becky) and Robbie Rollins (Marie); sister, Charlotte Watson (Doug); and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Marc Rollins.

The visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 12:15 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, with the funeral service following at 1:30 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Entombment will be in Graceland East Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family appreciates those attending to please follow CDC guidelines and wear a mask.
