Jimmy Earl Rice, 77, husband of the late Billajean (Matthews) Rice, peacefully passed away Monday, May 23, 2022.
Born in Mauldin, SC, he was the son of the late William Henry and Nell Perkins Rice.
Jimmy was a successful entrepreneur who started R&R Utilities in the late sixties. He was an active business owner and employer who made countless contacts and friendships throughout his forty years running R&R. He retired in 2009 to enjoy his leisure time deer hunting, attending sporting events, and traveling with his wife. He enjoyed going to Myrtle Beach and spending quality time there with his family.
Mr. Rice was a Shriner and member of Brookwood Church in Simpsonville.
He is survived by a daughter, Renee Rice Wilson and her husband Jake; a son, William Earl “Billy” Rice and his wife Tara; four grandchildren, Courtney Brooke Ellinger, Briggs Sutton Rice, Billa Gray Elizabeth Rice, and Baylor Shep Rice; two brothers, Dewayne Rice and Jerry Rice; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Billajean Matthews Rice, three sisters, and a brother.
His family wishes to thank the kind and compassionate staffs of Windsor House, Pendleton Manor (Terra Bella Summit), and Interim Hospice for their continued care and support.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown. The Funeral Service will be Friday, May 27, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown. Burial will be in Graceland East Memorial Park, Simpsonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Attn: Processing Center, P.O. Box 947765, Atlanta, GA 30394.
