Charlotte Grace Helms passed peacefully in the arms of her loving parents on July 31, 2022.

Born in Greenville on July 26, 2022, Charlotte was the daughter of Alison and Dustin Helms.

Even before her birth and during her six short days here on earth she touched many lives and was loved deeply by family and friends. Our girl defied so many odds and put up a strong fight. We will forever cherish the brief time we spent with her.

In addition to her loving parents, she is survived by two brothers, Andrew Sullivan and William Helms; maternal grandparents, Mary and Frank Jones, of Clemmons NC, and Philip Paul and Sue Ann Choate, of Brockton MA.; paternal grandparents, Gary and Carrie Helms, of Lancaster SC, and Ginger and David Steele, Lancaster SC.

A private celebration of life will be held later for family and close friends. More details will follow.

In lieu of flowers, we would be honored to have you support The Stella Effect (www.thestellaeffect.org). The Stella Effect is an organization that provided us tremendous support over the past 6 months and does so much to support families who have a child with Trisomy 18 or Trisomy 13 through celebration, advocacy, and community.

I am so very sorry for your loss Dusty and please know I am sending so much love to you and your wife now, and for the many difficult days ahead. Charlotte was a beautiful angel and so very lucky to have such amazing parents. I'm sure Aunt Betty and my dad are covering her with kisses and taking wonderful care of her until you all meet again! Charlotte was beautiful! You held an Angel all those hard months . You’re family was a role model for others that needed to see you’re Love and you’re Strength as a family. My sympathy to you and that precious little girl of yours. May the Lord hold her in hands forever. She brought joy to the world even if it was a short time.
