Kenneth Mark Street, 65, of Greenville, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023.
Born in Alexandria, VA, he was the son of the late Norman and Ina Ruth Woodruff Street.
Mark graduated from Western Alamance High School in Elon, NC. After a year at NC State University, he went to work for Burlington Industries where he maintained equipment for more than 25 years. When an opportunity arose to work for Michelin, Mark was excited to move to Greenville, SC. Mark loved what became his new home city. Mark served as a reliability technician for Michelin for 15 years.
Mark will be remembered by his friends and family for his love of history and technology. Mark was the family genealogist and could answer questions and tell stories about ancestors for hours. Because he so loved learning new things, Mark earned a degree in aircraft maintenance, became a certified glider pilot, and most recently was building a drone with his 3D printer. How appropriate that Mark now has gained his true wings after a valiant battle with heart disease and cancer.
Mark’s memory will continue in the hearts of his sisters, Nancy Dickerson and husband, Dave of Burlington, NC, Diane Tomerlin and husband, Keith of Summerfield, NC; an uncle, Charles Kenneth Woodruff; five nieces and nephews, six grand nieces, and many dear cousins.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Greenville Memorial Hospital as well as his Michelin work family and special friends Vickie and Juan Perez of Liberty.
