James "Jim" Alexander Watson, 58, loving husband of Janice Freeman Watson, died Thursday, January 16, 2020.
Born in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of the late William and Lucy Sisler Watson.
Jim was a devoted family man who served as a perfect role model for his children. Very intelligent and possessing a wide range of knowledge, Jim was the obvious choice for friends and family to ask trivia questions. He had a "we not me" attitude towards anything that might affect his family or those close to him which helped to make him a respected friend and kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Jim was a meticulous "gear head" which was expressed in his passion for cars and in particular, drag racing. He greatly enjoyed family time and camping in his motor home. Also a devoted employee, Jim served as Area Service Manager for United Rentals for 35 years. He was dearly loved and greatly admired by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife of over 37 years, he is survived by two sons; Judson Watson, and Jacob Watson and his wife, Ashley; daughter, Jordan Watson; granddaughter Paisley Campbell-Watson; and sisters, Rebekah Carter, and Nancy Presnall.
A visitation will be held Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast. The funeral service will be Monday, January 20th at 11:00 AM in the Chapel. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
