Jeanette N. Rawls (“Jean”), 88, entered into glory on May 15, 2021. Jean was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina and was educated at Rex Hospital School of Nursing (now UNC Rex Healthcare) in Raleigh, North Carolina where she graduated in 1953 and became a registered nurse. It was in Raleigh where Jean met William “Bill” F. Rawls whom she would later marry. After moves to Texas and Virginia, Jean and Bill settled in Greenville, SC where they resided for 57 years and raised their family.
Jean was a firm believer in and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jean faithfully served the Lord, always putting others before herself, and was dedicated to serving her family with compassion and encouragement. One of her joys was supporting missions and local ministries that shared the gospel of Christ with others. She loved her husband, Bill, dearly and her family who meant the world to her. Jean was blessed by having all of her immediate family live close to her in Greenville. Her family pets also held a special place in her heart.
Jean attended Eastside Presbyterian Church (formerly Shannon Forest Presbyterian). In addition to her husband of 66 years, she is survived by a daughter, Betsy Pangle and husband, Ben, of Greenville; a son, Blair Rawls and wife, Becky, of Greenville; a daughter, Leslie Russell and husband, William, of Greenville; a grandson, Matt Pangle (Hannah); and granddaughters Rachel Rawls, and Caroline Russell of Greenville.
A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, SC on Saturday, May 22nd at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideons International, or to Miracle Hill Ministries.
