Shannon Edwards Fowler, 51, of Simpsonville, SC went to be with the Lord and creator Saturday, April 4, 2020.

Born in Greer, she was the daughter of Charles “Sonny” Edwards and Phyllis Robertson.

Shannon was a graduate of Eastside High School. She then attended Presbyterian College where she received her Bachelor of Science degree and a minor in mathematics. She continued her education at Furman University with a Master of Arts with an emphasis on Childhood Education. Currently Shannon was employed with Tribe513 for the past ten years.

Shannon was a selfless soul who thrived off of helping others, always putting them first, and making sure they knew they were loved. She never missed an opportunity to let people know she cared. She gave wise words of wisdom to those who needed it. She was an avid Gamecock fan where she spent many lasting memories with her family and friends. Her daughter, Madison, was her world. She dedicated her life to providing and making sure she had everything she ever needed. Her daughter gave her a precious grandson who gave Shannon the title of Gigi.

Shannon was preceded in death by her stepson, Mathew Fowler; her sister, Shea Robertson Edwards; maternal grandparents, James and Carolyn Robertson; and paternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Edwards.

Shannon is survived by her husband, John “Johnny” Fowler; her daughter, Madison McMahon; her stepson, Mark Fowler; her stepsister, Christina Dye; her mother, Phyllis Robertson; stepfather, Zane Canterbury; her father Charles “Sonny” Edwards; stepmother, Paula Edwards; and her most treasured grandson, Trenton Maxwell Allen.

A private graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Woodlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Aaron Rayburn of Edwards Road Baptist Church officiating.

I am so sorry to hear this news. It hurts my heart for her family, her daughter Madison, and that sweet grandbaby of hers. I remember her contagious laugh, her beautiful smile, and her caring heart. She was always there to help others and always had that big smile on her face. I have fond memories of her from our days as Eastside together.

My prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

We think about you always, We talk about you still, You have never been forgotten, And you never will. We hold you close within our hearts, And there you will remain, To walk and guide us through our lives, Until we meet again.

We will miss you, sweet Shannon. Thanks so much for being a true friend to me and to so many others. Sending many prayers and much love to your family during this incredibly difficult time.

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. My sister Susan and I met Shannon at the Cancer Center. She was such a sweet person and definitely loved her family. We shared pictures and stories about our families. You really become close while undergoing treatments. We have been praying for her from the day we 1st met her. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I am heartbroken by the loss of my friend, and I am praying for comfort for Madison and the rest of the family. I love you all. I will miss Shannon, and so will anyone who knew and loved her.

I’m so sorry for your loss. May the God of all comfort help you during this difficult time. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4 & Psalms 83:18). Jesus prayed for God’s Kingdom to come because He knew it would be able to solve all mankind’s problems even death.(Revelation 21:4,5 & Daniel 2:44).

Oh how this breaks my heart. I remember sitting on the front porch in Silverleaf and watching her zoom past my house in her fancy sports car. I was so jealous.

Although we weren’t best friends, we were friends. Lifelong friends that saw each other here and there over the years and never missed a beat.

I am so sorry for the family....you have had a great loss. My prayers are with you.
