I am so very sorry, to the Ortega family, for your loss. Ginka was a huge musical influence in my flute playing career. She was my best and most favorite teacher, by far!! Heaven has gained a beautiful, musical angel. Thank you, Ginka, for your gift of music you gave me

I knew Ginka during our freshman year at Wittenberg University (1963 - 64) and remember her as a sweet and very talented young woman. She once taught me the words to "Brahms' Lullaby" in Bulgarian, which have always stayed with me. Wonderful to learn that she enjoyed such a successful career in music and had a large loving family. Sincere condolences and deepest sympathy for your loss.

My prayers are with you and your family. I remember the multiple times I would see her play. It was magnificent, passionate and joyful. She was a true master. The music world will also miss her. Last time I spoke with her she shared her love and pride of you and your children and grandchildren. I heard a flutist play Tchaikovsky Pathetique the first movement and I dedicate this to her. Warmly and with love, Lisa

Richard Haskin and I are deeply saddened by the passing of our friend Ginka. She was not only very musically talented but had a natural gift for being easily respected and loved. Ginka spoke softly but her words resounded loudly. We will always be grateful to her and Jesus for supporting artists in their home with intimate soirees. They made each of us feel special! It's a great loss to the Arts and to all that knew Ginka. Richard and I will hold her close in our hearts until we meet again, surrounded by angelic music. For now, we miss the Grande Dame from Bulgaria whose music was meant to enrich many countries. Our deepest sympathy to Jesus and the entire family. Much love, Pierette and Richard

Boyan S Griffen, Sofia, BG left a message on October 4, 2021:
So sad to hear of Ginka's passing felt compelled to share two happy memories-- 20 years ago we collaborated on a handful of benefit concerts. Ginka was always open, willing, ready, and always seemed to rise above the challenges in the work we did, with grace and finesse. Secondly, my grandmother, Violette (Argiroff) Griffen told me years ago that she and her parents, Turpo and Tsveta, had fond memories of Fr. and Mrs. Geroff and Ginka going back now many decades. May she rest in peace and may her memory be eternal.
