A. “Doris” McLeod Pauley, 91, beloved wife of the late Reverend Thomas A. Pauley, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.
Born in Laurel, MS, she was the daughter of the late Sydney and Fairebell Lee McLeod.
Doris attended the Good Shepherd Assembly of God, where she found solace and strength in her faith. Her passion for music was evident in her performances as a singer, organist, and musician, which brought joy and inspiration to those who had the pleasure of hearing her play.
Doris dedicated over two decades of her life to Face Mate Textiles, where she worked tirelessly to provide for her family. Her strong work ethic and commitment to her responsibilities were admired by her colleagues and served as an example to all.
Doris will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, faith, and musical talent will continue to resonate in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by sons, Phillip Pauley (Darlene), Thomas Pauley (Talma), and James Pauley; daughter, Sandra Pauley-Lance; sister-in-law, Nelda Urban; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Everett McLeod; and sisters, Margaret, Jean, Geraldine, and Beverly.
A visitation will be held Friday, May 26, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, with a graveside service to follow at 1:00 p.m. in Graceland Cemetery West.
