Alice M Stack

Alice M Stack, 77, beloved wife of the late George Stack, Jr., passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024.

Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late William and Alma Ross Hooper.

Alice was a woman of simple pleasures who found joy in the everyday moments. She had a passion for exploring thrift stores, finding hidden gems, and sharing laughter with those around her. Cooking for her family and friends was a source of delight, as she poured love and creativity into every dish she prepared.

Alice had an appreciation for the beauty of flowers, she found solace and joy in the vibrant colors and fragrant scents.

Above all, Alice’s greatest joy came from her role as a mother and grandmother. Her love was a guiding light in the lives of her family, and the memories of her warmth and affection will forever be etched in their hearts.

Alice leaves a lasting imprint on the hearts of those who knew her, a legacy of love and cherished moments that will be remembered for generations to come.

She is survived by sons, Jeff Yown and George O. Stack, III; daughters, Christy McPeak and Amanda Childress; grandchildren, Alison Stack and Haley McPeak; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her loving husband and parents, she was preceded in death by granddaughter, Ashley Lamb; and brother, William Hooper.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery West.
