Alma Poole Flinn Childress

Alma Poole Flinn Childress, 89, of 660 Rutherford Road, died Monday, July 07, 2008. Born in Rock Hill, she was a daughter of the late Wesley Walker Locke and Lucy McSwain Locke and wife of forty years of the late Millard Lee Poole. Mrs. Childress was a member of Berea First Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Arletha Poole Roberts and husband Berkley C.; three grandsons, D. Gregory Norris and wife Betty, Smokey Norris and wife Tammy, and Jeffrey Norris; three great grandchildren, Holly, Spencer, and Parker Norris; two sisters, Allene Ellison and Dorothy Spivey; two nieces, Alma Ferguson and Robin Barber; and seven nephews, Tommy and Millard Ellison, Ricky and Donald Spivey, Walker, David, and Mike Locke. A graveside service will be Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 12 Noon at Graceland Cemetery, West with visitation from 10:30 – 11:30 am prior to the service at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Berea First Baptist Church, 529 Farrs Bridge Road, Greenville, SC 29611.
