Amos Lee Simpkins, a beloved member of the Greenville community, passed away on February 21, 2024, at the age of 53. He was born on February 19, 1971, in Greenville, SC, to his loving mother Joyce Elaine Simpkins and father Amos Lee Cureton. Known for his diverse interests and talents, Amos found joy in all sports, especially football. He also loved riding bikes and could be seen riding all over town.
Graduating from Eastside High School, where he enjoyed playing football, Amos pursued a career in the roofing industry. His dedication and craft were admired by many in the community. He enjoyed automotive work and was considered a jack of all trades.
Amos will be fondly remembered by his family, including his parents, Amos Cureton, and Joyce Simpkins; brother, Demetrius Antwen Jackson; great-aunt, Linda Simpkins; aunts and uncles, Peggy and James Cooper, Ruth Cureton, Barbara Edwards, Leneida Pettway, Herbert Simpkins, and Eugene Cureton; nieces, Demetriana L-Anya and Meka Jackson; and his fiancé, Pam Cooper. His legacy will live on through the stories and memories shared by those who knew and loved him.
Amos was reunited in Heaven by his aunt, Vivian Louise Simpkins; and uncle, Charles Junior Simpkins.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Amos will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown.
