Andrew Jackson Hanvey, 66, of 2511 Pineland Shores Circle, husband of Charlie Adele Etty Hanvey, died Thursday, August 30, 2007. Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late Horace Haley Hanvey and Essie Pearl Tollison Owens. He was a retired 1st Sergeant with the United States Army. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Kathryn Beshears of Ammonford, Wales, Elizabeth Denis of Huntsville, AL.; a stepson, Gerome Almond; a stepdaughter, Ginger Almond both of Cross Hill; five brothers, Earnest, Thomas, Carl, Roger and Ronnie Hanvey; two sisters, Jeannette Davis and Barbara Phillips; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of the Piedmont, Inc., 404 W. Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, with visitation prior from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The body will be placed at the residence on Saturday, September 1, 2007.
