Angelina “Angie” Michael Watson, 66, beloved wife of Harvey M. Watson, Jr., died June 3, 2021.
Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Mitchell and Najla S. Michael.
Despite a diagnosis as a teenager of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and prognosis of mere months of life expectancy, Angie underwent successful treatment at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Maryland over the course of several years. Despite missed years of high school during that period, she later attended Clemson University, from which she secured Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education as well as lifelong friends. She served as a middle school teacher in Irmo, SC until another battle with cancer, this time fought with the assistance of providers at Duke University Hospital in North Carolina, forced her early retirement. Her fighting spirit remained her hallmark as she persevered beyond all expectations, even as she also cared for and loved her family and friends in ways that will never be forgotten. Although having defied cancer twice, the treatments left a residual toll physically, and she experienced complications that escalated over time until she ultimately submitted herself unto the embrace and perfect healing of her Creator.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her daughter, Sarah K. Walker and husband, Larry; son, Harvey M. Watson III and wife, Lindsey; daughter, Margaret A. Nickerson and husband, Brian; daughter, Carolyn C. Michelotti and husband, Andrew; daughter, Elizabeth A. Watson; grandchildren, Andrew, Kaylea, Lilah, William, Claire, Levi, Anna Grace; brothers, Thomas Michael and Joseph Michael.
