Annie Bruce Lanford Cole

August 19, 1905 - August 7, 2005
Annie Bruce Lanford Cole, formerly of Perry Road, Sans Souci, widow of William Wylie Cole, died Sunday, August 07, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown. Born in Oconee County, she would have been 100 on August 19th, she was the daughter of the late Elliot Henry and Alice Josephine Wilson Lanford. Mrs. Cole was a homemaker and was the oldest member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. She was an avid yard worker and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are five daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and William Kay, Jr., Margaret and Wilton Mauldin all of Greenville, Mary Alice and Lonnie Propst of Chesapeake, VA., Judy Salters of Taylors, Brenda and Charles Hall of Travelers Rest; two sons and daughter-in-law, Harry Cole, Harvey and Barbara Cole all of Greenville; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Ernestine Lanford of Walhalla; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by two brothers, five sisters, two grandsons, a daughter-in-law, and a son-in-law. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 306 N. Franklin Road, Greenville, SC 29609 or Bethel United Methodist Church, 2104 Old Buncombe Road, Greenville, SC 29609. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 09, 2005 from 6:30 until 8:30 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at 1:30 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers and granddaughters and great grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
