Annie “Polly” Mozelle Batson, 96, of Travelers Rest, passed away Monday, September 20,2021.

Born in Lexington, NC, she was the daughter of the late James Monrow and Blanche Winslow.

Polly was a member of Clearview Baptist Church and the Ladies Sunday School Class. She retired after 35 years as a talented seamstress with Stone Manufacturing. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Her legacy will live on in the memories of her three loving daughters, Elizabeth Taylor (the late Aaron Taylor), Joyce Roach (Frank) and Sylvia Cox (Stanley); four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Polly was preceded in death by her husband, Lester A. Batson; sister, Sadie Chaplin and brother, Lloyd Winslow.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Agape Care Hospice for the compassion and care they gave to Polly.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Clearview Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park in Travelers Rest.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clearview Baptist Church, 5611 State Park Road, Travelers Rest, SC 29690 or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.

Family, Polly was a very special person. She was always smiling and kind to all. Heaven has gained a special ruby. She will be greatly missed. But, you will all see her one day as I am certain she will be waiting for all to arrive! May God Bless you each and everyone and bring comfort and peace to you.

I am so Blessed to have had the Best Grandma in the world! She was there for me for the good times and the bad. She was also there for her great and great great grandchildren. I am thinking of you 3 and am so so sorry. I was thinking today about the time i got her and we went to the reunion in piedmont and though i known her all my life i never knew how much fun she was to be around. We both laughed and kidded each other the whole day. So glad i have this day to remember. She is a very special person to me and i love her with all my heart.

Aunt Polly was always a loving and kind aunt to me from the time I was a child until her last days. I loved her and will always remember her.

Lib, we are so sorry to hear of your Mother's passing. It is such a blessing you and your sisters had her in your lives for such a long time and we know your hearts are filled with wonderful memories. The care the three of you took of her speakes volumes of the loving Mother she was. She was a joy to all that knew her. Due to predictions of bad weather through Thursday we have decided to not make the trip but, please know you and all of your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
