Ansel Clyde Dempsey

Ansel Clyde Dempsey, 75, of 105 Apple Drive, died Tuesday, February 6, 2007. Born in LaFrance, SC, he was the son of the late Reverend G.F. Dempsey and Ruth Porter Dempsey. Mr. Dempsey served in the U.S. Marines and was a member of Mauldin Church of God. Surviving are his wife of fifty-three years, Wilma Carrouth Dempsey, of the home; two daughters, Patti McCoy and husband Vic of Pickens, and Paula Whitley and husband Kevin of Greenville; a son, Ansel Dempsey, Jr., of Kennesaw, GA; four sisters, Glaidelle Hamlet of Irmo, Joyce Meeks of Spartanburg, Barbara Dempsey of Columbia, and Donna Petras of Chicago, IL; a brother, Frank Dempsey, of Columbia; and four grandchildren, Dustin McCoy, Jordan and Chance Whitley, and Shawnna Dempsey. Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with Rev. Bobby Johnson and Rev. R.L. Case officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon ? 1:30 pm. Burial will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens. Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Mauldin Church of God, 411 E. Butler Road, Mauldin, SC 29662. The family is at the residence.
