Arthur Ervin Thurston, Jr

Arthur "Ervin" Thurston, Jr., 83, of Travelers Rest, died Monday, November 10, 2008. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Arthur Ervin Thurston and Della Craig Thurston and husband of the late Clelia Moon Thurston. Mr. Thurston retired from JP Stevens Monaghan Plant and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are a daughter, Diane League and husband Kenny, of Travelers Rest; two sons, Ronnie Thurston and wife Mary Ann, and Curt Thurston, all of Travelers Rest; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; a sister and a brother. He was predeceased by a son; a granddaughter; a sister and four brothers. The funeral service will be Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 1:30 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with visitation from 12:00 – 1:15 pm prior. Burial will be at Grand View Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to North Fork Baptist Church, Building Fund, 160 Callahan Mtn. Road, Travelers Rest, SC 29690. The family is at 6122 Locust Hill Road, Travelers Rest.
