Avienell Farmer Wilder

July 17, 1934 - February 27, 2008
Avienell Farmer Wilder, 73, of Greenville, died Wednesday, February 27, 2008. Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Tollie Edgar Farmer and Hattie Evington Farmer and wife of the late Charles B. Wilder. Mrs. Wilder retired from Lakeview Middle School. She was a member of Monaghan Baptist Church for over forty years and the Fanny Ballenger Sunday school class. Surviving are a daughter, Teresa Norris, of Greenville; five sons, Daryl E. Wilder of Greenville, Terry C. Wilder and wife Kathy of Swansea, Barry B. Wilder of Greenville, Dwayne E. Wilder of Greenville, and J. Keith Wilder and wife Teresa of Greenville; four sisters, Wavie Lee Turner and husband Cecil of Greer, Vallie Brewton and husband Ray of Greer, Peggy Fowler and husband Larry of Greer, and Velma Farmer of Greer; two brothers, Donald Farmer of Greer, and Morris Farmer and wife Bert of Greer; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Thomas; and a brother, Garold Farmer. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be held Friday, February 29, 2008 at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Monaghan Baptist Church, Family Life Center, 1500 W. Parker Road, Greenville, SC 29617. The family is at the residence.
