Avis Dale Reeves Seabolt Sutton, age 75, wife of Major General Berlyn K. Sutton (AUS-ret) passed away on October 9, 2021. She was a native of Greenville County and daughter of the late McNally and Louise Miller Reeves.
Dale was an honor graduate of Hillcrest High (1964), a graduate of Agnes Scott Colle (1968) with a BS in Economics and earned a MS in Economics from the University of Georgia. Her early years were spent in Atlanta, GA where she was an economist for Bell South and where she later developed a passion for real estate in which she made a career in Atlanta. There Dale won many awards for excellence in sales. She later moved to Greenville, SC where she continued in real estate and was instrumental in having the East Park community designated as a Historic District. She had a self-educated ability in home renovation, landscape architecture, hydraulic engineering, and gardening. Dale was a devoted mother to her son and a treasured wife to her husband. She was a member of the Johnson Class at First Baptist Church Greenville and currently State Secretary of the South Carolina Department Reserve Organization of America.
In addition to her parents, Dale was predeceased by a brother Ronald Mac Reeves; and a sister Maxine Marshall (Jon).
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Michael Seabolt; sisters Gertie Reeves Mullis (John), Janie Reeves Jones (Ed), Peggie Reeves and Terry Reeves; stepsons Robert A Sutton (Susan), Jon Jeffrey Sutton (Mary Beck); and stepdaughter Lisa Anne Sutton Mowbray (Wayne).
A memorial service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church Greenville sanctuary on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow at the Columbarium located in the Remembrance Garden adjacent to the church. Masks and social distancing are suggested.
