Dear Mr. Bob and the Hunter Family, When I first learned of Mrs. Barbara's passing I was so torn because my Heart was just Broken, She is one of my most Favorite people in the World and I just Love her so much. I sat and thought as I read the message that she had passed "Why am I not Crying my Eyes out right now, but then it hit me, This is a Time to Rejoice, She is with Our Heavenly Father and there is no Sadness in that. Jesus Shined from her Life and I am Blessed to have Known her and I'm so Thankful for the Years I had to be just One of Ladies at Bellview She Poured her Goodness and Knowledge into. I Sure will Miss her here on this earth, but I'm Excited one day I will see her again. Love and Prayer for all the Family, Cindy Jones

Dear Bob, we were so sad to hear of Barbara's passing and your illness. You all have meant so much to us and your support of us and our kids. Chad has fond memories of you and being at his and Miriam's wedding almost 25 years ago. You both made coming to Kenya a blessing for the Pumpelly family! We are praying for you and your family as you celebrate her life (well-lived) and grieve your loss with the comfort of our Lord. We will be with you in the service through the livestream.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

What a privilege to know Mrs. Barbara and Mr. Bob during our time as interim pastor at Bellview Baptist Church in Laurens! We love them dearly and prayed for them often. Mrs. Barbara was filled with the love of Jesus. She truly had a servant's heart. Our prayer are with this dear family, and especially Mr. Bob. Mike and Iris Bearden

Bob and Barbara have “adopted” our children and have loved on them and us for the 9 years we have known them. They shop at Ingles where I work—and Mrs Barbara would wait for me to notice her so she could blow a kiss to me. I will certainly miss that and miss her!!

She was one of my greatest friends when we served together in Nairobi, Kenya. She and Bob made our life so enjoyable. She played the piano and did the weekly bulletin for the church my husband, Charles, pastored (Parklands Baptist. Church) in Nairobi, and she and Bob were faithful members. We laughed a lot, especially when we played Uno. Bob could never beat her at Uno, and she could never make espresso, although she continued to try. As we always say to our loved ones who go to be with the Lord, “Tutaonana tena” (Kiswahili for, “we shall see each other again”). Much love to Bob and the family.

Bob, I had thought of you and Barbara very recently. George and I served in Uganda while you all were the Kenya, as coordinators for our mission. You even met my sister in Greenville to bring a "care package" back to Uganda for us. After our return to SC, Barbara spoke to my WMU group at Greer First Baptist. She was a wonderful lady and a true mentor. She touched many lives and my life is better because of her. God bless you and give you the comfort that only He can provide.

My condolences to Bob and the children. I have been neighbors with Barbara and Bob for the last 11 years at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community. They were devoted to each other and to their Lord and Savior. She had a servant’s heart and a quick wit. She will be missed. One of our connections was that their son-in-law Richard and my son James were roommates at Clemson. I discovered that their daughter Judy and I have the exact first and middle names, Judith Anne. My prayers are continuing for Bob and the family as you begin this journey of grief.

I grew up in Grove Station Baptist Church, and knew the Barnes and Hunter Families as long as I can remember. I first knew Barbara, whom we called Bobby Ann, as a teenager, and later as a young Mother. The years passed by, and later I saw her and Bob, whom we called Cordell, go to Africa as missionaries. To Bob and Family: May you find peace and comfort in remembering the Christian example set by Barbara as she lived her life. Barbara has been welcomed Home as a good and faithful servant. Psalm 116:15 "Precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of His saints."

To the Barbara Hunter Family: Barbara was very special to us @ Bellview! She and Bob was Bellview’s prayer warriors! I thought who is going to stand in the “gap” for Bellview now? On Monday I went to the mail box and there was a card addressed to me! I looked and she had mailed the card to me on Saturday and I rec’d it Monday! Thank you God that my “paths” crossed with Barbara & Bobs!

A beautiful lady who did beautiful service for the Lord. My husband Erwin was a member with Barbara and Cordell at Grove Station Baptist in Piedmont SC. Later we served with them at Jones Avenue in Easley. Barbara meant a lot to me serving as WMU Director as well as other areas. She was a great leader and friend.

What wonderful memories I have of the Barnes family. They were truly influential in my life in the small Grove Station Community and Grove Station Baptist Church. I have vivid memories of Barbara playing the piano in the old Church building with her 3 little children lined up on the bench behind her. I am so sorry for the families' loss but know the Angels rejoiced when she went to her Eternal home Thoughts and prayers for all the family.
