Barbara H. Moody

Barbara H. Moody, age 86, widow of Billy Moody, of Greenville, passed away Monday, September 27, 2021.

Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Sophie Ward Heaton.

Barbara was a graduate of Parker High School and retired after 34 years as a secretary for Cone Mills. She enjoyed her time with the Bleachery Girls. Barbara was a longtime member of Berea First Baptist Church, where she was involved in the Sanctuary Choir, Celebration Singers, and was an active volunteer with the Reaching Center and assisted with the Wednesday night suppers. She cherished her time spent singing at the top of the Living Christmas Tree at Berea First Baptist Church. Barbara was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting and cross-stitching.

She is survived by her daughter, Tamara Clark and son-in-law,Thomas Clark; two grandchildren, Cameron Clark and Chrissie Clark Foster; two great-grandchildren, Leo and Millie Foster; niece, Shawn Schmidt; and nephew, Richie Marett.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Norma Marett.

A visitation will be held Friday, October 1, 2021, from 10:45 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, with the funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
