Barbara Hawes Graham

Barbara ?Grammy? Hawes Graham, 91, of Butler Springs Rd, died Thursday, May 3, 2007. Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Abby Brown and Charles A. Hawes and widow of John Hawthorne Graham, Sr. Mrs. Graham was a homemaker and member of Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church. She and her late husband helped start the Greenville County Republican Party. She was an original member of the Grandfather Mountain Graham Clan. Surviving are two sons and their wives, Dana L. and Mary Ann Graham of Tallahassee, FL., and Robert M. and Sandy Graham of Greenville; seven grandchildren, John H. Graham, III, Jeffrey D. Graham, Craig M. Graham, Douglas E. Graham, Catherine Graham Martin, Laura L. Evatt, and Richard E. Ballenger; ten great grandchildren; a niece and a nephew. She was preceded in death by two sons, John H. Graham, Jr. and Mark T. Graham. Memorials may be made to Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church, 2519 Woodruff Rd., Simpsonville, SC 29681. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 6, 2007 at 3 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home in the Downtown Chapel. Visitation will be prior to the service from 2:00 to 2:45. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
