Ben Earl Nabors, 80, of 4303 Old Buncombe Road, husband of Lillian White Nabors, died Thursday, September 01, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown. Born in Simpsonville, he was the son of the late William Franklin and Mae Garrett Nabors. A 1943 graduate of Parker High School, Mr. Nabors, owner of Nabors Construction, retired from the Greenville County School District. He was a member of Leawood Baptist Church where he was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School class. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, a member of the Sam Poe Masonic Lodge #284 for 45 years, and the Scoutmaster of Troop #56 for 14 years. He was also a United States Army Veteran having served during WWII. Surviving in addition to his wife of 61 years are a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra N. and Ronnie Gilbert of Greenville; a son and daughter-in-law, William E ?Bill? and Ivy Nabors of Anderson; four grandchildren, Jennifer Nabors of Irmo, Ginger Reinhard and her husband Bob of Killeen, TX., Scott Gilbert and his wife Lana of Travelers Rest, Chris Gilbert and his wife Amie of Travelers Rest; six great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kaylynn, and Lauryn Gilbert, Cody Reinhard, Halie and Alex Gilbert. Funerals services will be conducted Sunday, September 04, 2005 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Visitation will be held prior to the services from 1:00 until 2:45 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
