I knew Bennie and Hazel through my parents, Betty and Beauford Dorr. They would often come to our family gatherings for Thanksgiving and Christmas. They were like family to me. I miss them both dearly.

Bonnie has been a great friend since we were babies and I fondly remember playing on the weeping willow tree at their old house. Bennie was like a second dad and recently called me “Donna B,” making me an honorary Barnett! One of the things I love about the family is that they are always, ALWAYS positive!

A great bluegrass dad! It was always good to see him supporting Jeff at our local bluegrass shows. The way that Mr. Barnett's family took care of him was a inspiration. May God bless you all with His presence during this time an inthe days ahead. Mr. Barnett's faith has now become sight! May we all see him again one day.

Uncle Bennie was such a jolly and happy fellow. It was always a joy to be able to visit with him.

My parents, John and Virginia Bruce, were close friends of Bennie And Hazel’s, and had so many happy memories of their times together.  After Daddy became so weak, Bennie was a big help to me in dealing with Daddy’s shop.  He and Hazel continued to visit Mother after Daddy’s death right up until Hazel’s health became so bad.  I will always be so grateful to them for that and for their long friendship with my parents. Bennie was a happy soul and his laughter brightened our world and made it a better place.
