Bennie Marshall Barnett, 91, husband of the late Hazel Morrisson Barnett, of Greenville, died Saturday, October 24, 2020.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Jeptha and Lucile Barnett.
Mr. Barnett proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War on the USS Boxer. He was a member of Monaghan Baptist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Barnett of Marietta, GA; three sons, James Randy Byers (Laurie) of Tacoma, WA, Jeff Barnett (Ceci) of Boiling Springs, SC; and Bennie Russell Barnett of Greenville, SC; a granddaughter, Kelsey Barnett; and two daughters-in-law, Beth Kelly and Lucy Henry.
In addition to his loving wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki L. Byers; a brother, Gordon L. Barnett; and a sister, Gladys B. Davenport.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020, at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel. Although no formal receiving of friends will be held, friends may pay their respects to the family after the service until 3:00 p.m. Due to the pandemic, guest attending the service are kindly asked to observe social distancing and wear a face covering or mask.
