Bertha Josephine Scott, 89, of Greenville, died Sunday, November 9, 2008. Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Alonzo John Thomas Scott and Nettie Brown Scott. Ms. Scott retired from DJ's of Greenville and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are a daughter, Johnnie S. Whittington; a brother; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Helen S. Callahan; two grandsons; one great grandson; and three sisters. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 12, 2008 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, West. The family is at their respective homes.
