Bertie Day Church, 87, of 468 Old Hunts Bridge Road, died Friday, March 23, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown. Born in Pickens, she was the daughter of the late John B. and Mellie Lark Day and the widow of James A. Church, Sr. Mrs. Church was a member of Forestville Baptist Church. Survivors are daughters, Lucille Horne and husband, J.W., of Pelzer and Lois Satterfield and husband, Furman, of Greenville; a son, David Church and wife, Molly, of Travelers Rest; a brother, John B. Day, II, of Signal Mountain, TN; grandchildren, Kenneth Horne, Ricky Horne, Glenn Horne, Keith Satterfield, Kevin Satterfield, Tracy Morris, Steve Coker, Ty Coker and Janice Phillips; 23 great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by a son, James A. Church, Jr. Visitation will be Sunday from 7:00 ? 8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Funeral services will be Monday at 3:00 p.m. at Forestville Baptist Church. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Members of the Joyful Workers Sunday School Class will serve as honorary escort. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family is at the residence.
