Bessie Banks Scoggins

Bessie Banks Scoggins, 88, died July 31, 2004 at NHC. Born in McCormick, she was the widow of James Robert Scoggins and the daughter of the late Wallace and Matilda Banks. Mrs. Scoggins was employed with Stone Manufacturing for 32 years before her retirement. She was a member of the Greenville Associate Reform Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Scoggins is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lawson and Linda Scoggins of Simpsonville; two granddaughters, Robin Larsen and Michelle Neeley; and three great-grandsons, and a sister, Ruth Williams of Greenville. Memorials may be made to Greenville ARP Church, 741 Cleveland St., Greenville, SC 29601. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn Memorial Park with visitation following the service. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family is at the home of Lawson Scoggins. Arrangements are being handled by Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown.
