Bessie Hestle Knight

Bessie Hestle Knight, 85, of 4280 Sandy Flat Road, died Friday, December 1, 2006. Mrs. Knight was the widow of James H. Knight and the daughter of the late Pinkney and Janie Ross Burns. She was retired from Southern Worster Mill and enjoyed sewing. She was a member of Jackson Grove United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for about 30 years. She is survived by four daughters, Betty Sesti and her husband John of Taylors, Dorothy Clippard and her husband Ray of Taylors, Genny Pressley and her husband Woody of Simpsonville, and Joan Kirby of Taylors; a son, James Knight and his wife Mary Jo of Taylors; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; five sisters, Essie Brady of Greenville, Rosa Long of Greenville, Mae McAlhaney of Greenville, and Polly Griswald of Liberty; and a brother, Pinkney Burns, Jr. of Travelers Rest. She was preceded in death by a sister, Christine Ward, and two brothers, Allen and Julius Burns. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2006 at Jackson Grove United Methodist Church with visitation prior to the service at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Jackson Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jackson Grove United Methodist Church, P.O.
